What is submitted
ImageCan receives the bytes of the file you upload: an image (up to 16 MiB, 20 megapixels, JPEG/PNG/WebP/GIF) or a video clip (up to 32 MiB, MP4/MOV/MKV/WebM). Uploaded images may contain embedded metadata (EXIF), which ImageCan reads as part of its analysis. Upload only files you are entitled to share for analysis.
What ImageCan does with it
The image is decoded and scored by a fixed set of local signal modules: EXIF metadata inspection, perceptual hashing, C2PA Content Credentials reading, a local AI-generation image classifier, and (when a local vision model is loaded on this host) a vision-model triage pass. Check the ImageCan page's status banner for which signals are actually live today. Some signals may be temporarily written to a local temporary file during analysis (used by the C2PA reader) and are deleted immediately after. A video is written to a local temporary file so its picture track can be decoded, twelve frames spread across the clip are read by the local image classifier, and the temporary file is deleted before the result is returned. The sound track is not read.
Retention
Uploaded images are processed in memory (and briefly on local disk for C2PA reading), and uploaded videos briefly on local disk for frame decoding, for the duration of the request and are not written to a database or persisted by the application. Production access logging is disabled for the analysis route. Standard web server and hosting infrastructure logs are separate from this application and are not covered by this notice's "not retained" statement. ImageCan is served by nginx on a Honeycutt Ai Labs server hosted on Amazon Web Services; ordinary page requests are recorded in that server's standard access log (time, requested address, response code and network address), kept under the server's normal log rotation.
Your browser
The ImageCan page sets no cookies and its application code writes nothing to local storage or session storage in this release. Your browser may cache page resources through its normal HTTP cache. The page loads no analytics and no scripts, fonts or images from other sites. A job-reconnection feature exists in the page code and would keep a job id, a status secret, a submission key and a hash of your image in this tab's session storage (key product-job-v1:imagecan) if it were switched on; it is switched off in this release. The image itself is never placed in browser storage.
Purpose and sharing
Information submitted is used only to produce the requested analysis and to protect the service from abuse. Honeycutt AI Labs LLC does not sell submitted images or videos or use them to train a model through this service.
Your choices
Do not upload images or videos containing sensitive personal information you are not authorized to process. For a privacy request, contact hello@honeycuttailabs.com.
